Ten Big Wedding Trends for 2024

Advice    16.01.2024

It's that time of the year where we predict what the big wedding trends will be this year. Bold colours are still riding high, wedding shots are a new entry into our top ten, while wedding art is going straight to the number one spot. Here's our guide to the top ten wedding trends for 2024.

Big bold colours

Pretty pastels and a pared back neutral aesthetic will always be a popular choice for some brides. But remember that bold colour trend that we mentioned in 2023? Yep, that’s set to continue in 2024. Think hot pinks, burnt oranges and vibrant reds for bridesmaids, flowers and decorations. Bold colours will continue to be worn by grooms and groomsmen too. As with 2023, pinks, reds and greens for guys will continue to be popular this year.

Dress code for guests

If you’re going to have a bit of a theme to your wedding, it’s always fun to get your guests involved too. Whether you opt for a black tie event and ask everyone to dress up to the nines, or you ask your guests to wear their most colourful outfits is up to you. Just give your guests plenty of notice so they have time to pull a fabulous outfit together.

Wedding shots

Bespoke cocktails have been huge for a while now. But shots are going to be the new super cool drink for 2024 and guests will be toasting the happy couple by knocking back tequila, sambuca, vodka or rum. Remember to offer a non alcoholic version too.

Champagne towers

But Champagne hasn’t gone away just yet though. If you’re going to serve fizz, opt for a 70s style old school Champagne tower. This trend is really glamorous and lots of fun and set to grow in popularity in 2024. Use traditional round coupe glasses and let the bubbles flow.

Wearing lace

Lace wedding dresses are back in vogue and and are set to be hugely popular this year. Pretty, feminine and hugely romantic, a lace wedding dress lace looks beautiful on every bride and work particularly well for an outdoor or barn wedding. Simply pair with flowers in your hair and lace up boots for a laid back vibe.

Drone wedding videography

Beautifully shot and edited wedding videos have been all the rage for a while. But drone photography is literally set to take off in 2024, and will be especially popular for couples who are getting married at beautiful sprawling venues. A drone camera can capture the day’s events from a unique perspective, with swooping images that give your wedding video cinematic vibes.

Live music

We all love a good disco. But more and couples are now opting to have a live band in the evening as well as a DJ. And it’s not just in the evening. We’ll see more couples opt for live music at different points throughout the day, such as singers and string quartets at the welcome reception to guitar players and saxophonists during the wedding breakfast. Live entertainment will be hugely popular this year.

Wedding art

One trend that’s going to be huge this year is having your wedding painted in real time. It’s amazing to have an artist capture all the excitement of the ceremony as it happens, and guests love to see the finished result. Or have an artist make personal water colours or illustrations for your table seating names. Choose locations that are important to you both such as holiday destinations or favourite pubs or restaurants.

Dessert bars

Scrummy dessert bars or tables have been popular for a while and we don’t see them disappearing any time soon. In 2024 go full Willy Wonka and load your table up with your favourite desserts, cakes and sweets and let people help themselves.

Ceremony one day, party the next day

Who says you have to have your ceremony, dinner and party all on the same day? Not us. More couples are opting to spread the celebrations over a number of days and that’s especially true if you’re having more than one religious ceremony. So opt for your wedding on the Friday and then have a big party (with a whole new outfit!) on the Saturday, followed by a big celebratory breakfast on the Sunday. It gives you a chance to take it all in and make the magic last even longer.
