Want your wedding to go off with a bang? We’re seeing more and more couples opt for spectacular firework displays to finish off their big day in style. Sonic Fireworks are regular visitors to Ash Barton, so it was good to catch up with Rob and Michelle recently to talk about pyromusical displays, fountain flares and, of course, sparklers.

So tell us about Sonic Fireworks

"We’re an award-winning family-run professional fireworks display operator that has been amazing audiences with our high-octane dazzling displays for over 20 years. We’re one of a very small number of firework companies that has female firing crews! Girl-Fire-Power!"

And is there music involved as well? 

"Absolutely! We specialise in pyromusical displays which is the art of synchronising the fireworks with a music track. It's really popular and becoming the norm."

What else do you offer? 

"We’ve also launched a new popular add-on to our displays called the SuperShot. This is a second mini display just for getting that perfect photographic shot. We can work with the couple’s photographer or videographer to set the shot up. It also means couples can enjoy the main show without having to pose for photos during the display."

So how long does a display last?

"Most wedding firework displays last between four and six minutes. So enough time for one or two music tracks."

And how long does it take you to set up? 

"Depending on the size of the display, it usually takes us a few hours. Ash Barton is a lovely North Devon setting that’s ideal for fireworks."

Do you provide the sparklers too?

"Yes, we can provide a wide range of sparklers, fountain flares and smokes which are ideal if you’re looking for spectacular and colourful photos. You can purchase them in the Sonic Fireworks shop."

What questions should couples ask when choosing a firework display company?

"As a starting point, ask the venue who they recommend. And also ask to see multiple videos of their fireworks displays. We have over 50 videos on the Sonic Fireworks website of small and large displays."
