Food and Drink in North Devon
Holidays, celebrations, weddings, parties and family get-togethers all have one thing in common. Food, glorious food. And it’s one of the things North Devon is particularly well known for.
Visit one of our nearby farm shops and pick up some local sausages for the BBQ or some Devon cheese. Or take a look at one of our local markets like Barnstaple’s historic Pannier Market. It’s one of the best food markets in the country. And if you’re looking for a great Devon wine, we recommend Quance Wines in Barnstaple. Their dry pink is lovely with seafood, salads and BBQs.
No visit in Devon is complete without a Devon cream tea. Tea by the Taw in Barnstaple is one of our favourites. But, of course, you can make them yourself in our huge kitchen at Ash Barton. Cut the scone in half, smother in cream then add the jam. Any other way is against the law.

Celebrate we did! Caterers were amazing. Organised a hotpot for us when we all arrived. Four course meal on Saturday evening. We transformed the dining room in to the most amazing restaurant. Games room was brill. What else can we say - a memorable experience we shall never forget.
