Small and Beautiful: What's Been Happening at Ash Barton
News 16.11.2020
It's all been going on at Ash Barton over the last few months. Despite the best efforts of you-know-what, Simon and the rest of the team have been working hard to ensure weddings are going ahead, albeit on a smaller scale.
Many of our couples have opted for a micro wedding on their original wedding day and have booked a fabulous celebration in our big party barn for next year. And we can’t wait to have them.
Lysette and David had their micro wedding back in August. Because of the restrictions, Lysette got ready in our camper pamper room, which includes underfloor heating, huge mirrors and Hollywood lights. It's the perfect space to do hair and make-up.
The wedding ceremony was held outside under our old oak tree, with all the guests socially distanced and seated on hay bales, followed by drinks and finger food in the walled garden.
Harry and Abbie were married under the oak tree too back in September with a handful of close family members in attendance. They followed the ceremony with a lovely picnic feast served by Big Pot Kitchen in the old chapel, which was prettily styled with bunting and flowers by the team at Best Day Ever. It was a beautiful and intimate celebration and a lovely way to start married life.
While Danielle and Andres had just six people at their September micro wedding including the bride and groom. They wed under the oak tree before enjoying a glass or two of fizz in the walled garden. Danielle’s mum is Scottish, so Columbian Andres wore a kilt to honour her roots, while the bride carried a bouquet of yellow, red and blue flowers based on the colours of the Columbian flag. Our most recent micro wedding saw Oliver and Sarah opt for a gorgeous chapel wedding for their big day at the end of October. The chapel was beautifully styled in autumnal colours by Best Day Ever, with flowers from Twigs flowers and delicious food from H&A Catering. Naturally all the guests were socially distanced and wearing masks, but this didn't detract in any way from the joyful occasion, and Oli and Sarah enjoyed a fantastic day.
