A huge congratulations to Sally and Martin, who enjoyed a gorgeous Scottish influenced wildflower meadow wedding at Ash Barton last summer.  

“We got married on 3 August 2024 at Ash Barton. As we're from Scotland so it was a big journey down, and my family are from Shetland so an even bigger journey but was absolutely worth it! I had in mind the kind of wedding we wanted and when we found Ash Barton online and got such a quick reply from Simon followed by a Zoom and virtual tour - we were sold.”

“We arrived on Thursday and set up most of the day, with family and friends also arriving. Fish and chips from Squires for dinner, and a good dent made into the booze for the weekend. Friday was some more setting up and a BBQ in the evening."

"Saturday morning was chilled getting ready and ceremony at 2pm. We then had drinks in the walled garden and had the speeches outside before the meal as suggested by Katie which was such a nice part of the day. Into the big party barn for paella and the party started from there. A great night of dancing which then continued into the old chapel for an impromptu after party.”

"Sunday was chilled, everyone back for pizza, pool and slip and slide."

“Kate was amazing, we all absolutely loved our makeup and felt our best. She managed all the makeup for my many bridesmaids and mum no problem at all, and was a great fun addition to the morning.”

“Jo was our celebrant and was brilliant. The ceremony was perfect. We did a hand fasting and she included a wee tartan ribbon for us which was so nice.”

Wedding co-ordinator: Katie at Best Day Ever

“Thank god for Katie and her team. Her support leading up to the wedding for a stressed-out bride planning a wedding miles away was invaluable. She was on hand all weekend keeping us right, working magic in the background, doing all the things we'd planned to do but forgot, cable tying my dress for me when I couldn’t dance properly in it, the list goes on! Her team cleaned up the big party barn on Sunday too. I highly recommend this if you've had a late one! Katie is a must!”

Flowers: Twigs

“We had bouquets and also a flower arch for down in the meadow. They were all absolutely gorgeous, and the girls were so lovely to deal with. Katie then used the flower arch to decorate the top table so we got the use of it all day.”

Food: Latitudes

“Latitudes did all our food for us and were unreal. So helpful in the lead up to the wedding in giving us options to suit our budget etc. We had canapés in the walled garden to start, followed by paella for the main and cream tea scones for dessert. Everybody still raves about the food. We had hotdogs as evening snack which were delicious too. Can't recommend them enough.”

Cake: Bronwyn at Stacc

“Bronwyn did our cake for us. It was so gorgeous and tasted even better. On one trip down pre wedding we got a box of samples to try which were so lovely. Delivery was sorted no problem, all very seamless.”

"Johnny was our photographer on the day. I'd found him on Instagram from being tagged at the venue before. Loved his style, loads of candid shots showing everyone having the best time and that's what we got, love all our photos! Johnny was great, didn't feel like we were getting dragged away from the party at any point to get photos. Captured the day perfectly.”

Chris is brilliant, a great fun addition to the day and we absolutely love our wedding video. So nice being able to see parts of the day we missed. We almost didn't get a videographer but so glad we did - definitely recommend!”

Music: Dean from Sexy Toast

Dean was our DJ and was great. We knew from his Instagram that his music taste was spot on for us. Dean had tunes going in the walled garden for drinks/canapés then kept them going well into the night. I don't think the dancefloor was ever empty. Highly recommend.”

Bar: FlyBar

“FlyBar ran the bar for us on Saturday night and were amazing. Totally stress free for us. We had drinks tokens for the guests as favours and this was no problem for them. The drinks and cocktails were perfect and all the staff so lovely.”

Sunday Pizzas: Stone Artisan Pizza

"On the Sunday  we had pizza for everyone. They were super helpful in the lead up in choosing items. They even took ingredients to make me my own olive/anchovie pizza that I didn't think would be a crowd pleaser but is my favourite! Pizza and salads were delicious.”
