Who knew this time last year, that the most popular wedding style for summer 2020 would be the micro wedding?

But as lockdown has eased, we’ve seen lots of brides and grooms enjoy small but beautifully formed wedding days at Ash Barton. Of course, there may be less guests than were previous planned. But that’s only made the day feel more intimate and special.

One recent micro wedding was that of Ruth and Will who held their beautiful wedding ceremony under our oak tree down by the lake, with a little help from wedding planner Katie at Best Day Ever.

“We had our micro wedding at Ash Barton,” says Ruth, with just 10 people including us! It was a lovely intimate ceremony with just close family.”

“We were due to marry in June this year so moved the date to June 2021 and now have a big wedding planned for next year. Having the micro wedding hasn't taken the shine off the big day at all. In fact, it helped ease the disappointment of not having it this year. And now we get to have two weddings!!"

“Now the legal bit is over, we can have a humanist ceremony at the big do next year, which seems way more relaxed and in keeping with what we want.”

“We were head over heels,” says Katie of Best Day Ever, “to be able to dress this beautiful micro wedding for Ruth and Will.

“With all that’s been happening, we couldn’t have been happier to be bringing some styling beauty to their wedding day. Micro weddings are such a treat right now, and people deserve two wonderful celebrations!”

“Simon and the team were so supportive,” says Ruth, “and so helpful throughout. All the suppliers were equally wonderful in agreeing to move the date. All this made what could have been a really stressful situation much easier. So thank you all!”
