Glamorous, emotional and so much fun. Jackie and Dave’s early September wedding was certainly a weekend to remember with a walled garden ceremony, drinks and music in the courtyard, and then a wedding breakfast, followed by dancing in the big party barn. And for those wedding guests that still had the energy, more dancing in the old chapel until late. And can we give a shout out to Jackie’s gold sparkly cowboy boots too?

“Terri did my hair, my bridesmaids and Mum. While she probably detected my nerves, she was lovely and calming in a sea of bridesmaids, make-up and dresses! She was wonderful and our hair looked beautiful!”

“Helen and Amy were amazing and so kind. They exceeded our brief and expectations, looked after us so well and kept everyone full and happy with their delicious food! Our guests loved the grazing table laid out after the ceremony, and are still talking about how good dinner and the late night pizza was!”

“If you wanted everyone up out of their seats and the party going, get Matt of Inspired Party to DJ! He and his partner Lianne were fantastic, and really helped us to think about the music and entertainment for the big party barn.”

Music: Oggle Band

“Gary and his amazing band mates came as a recommendation. We saw a video someone had posted, loved them, and when we realised we had overlooked entertainment after the ceremony, booked them! Loads of our guests had never seen a Ceidhl band play, and absolutely loved them. They really got the party vibe going before we all headed into the barn and were a super lovely gang!”

Tech set up: Liam at FlyBase

“Anyone thinking of throwing the after party in the Chapel – do it. And get Liam to help you turn it into a club. Dave and his friends carried on the party into the very early hours, and with Liam’s set-up it was the most fantastic after-party. Liam also installed us a keg of local ale, which was loved by guests!

“Debbie is lovely and was all round fantastic. Living in London, our communication was 99% emails and phone calls with only one face to face meeting. But it didn't matter. Our flowers were beautiful and 100% to the colour scheme and budget we agreed on. Our guests loved them and we had so many compliments.

"Louise was our London based photographer who left the big city for us for little Braunton, and we had the best time. She has been with us through rescheduling, photographing our registry office ceremony and finally the big show at Ash Barton. For two people who are allergic to the more formal, traditional bits of a wedding (formal photos included) she made us feel so comfortable and at ease it felt more like a photoshoot with a friend. EVERYONE loved her!"

She and her husband live only 10ish minutes from Ash Barton and are the kindest, most incredible and trustworthy people. We are so lucky we found them early on in our wedding journey as they ended up being the only ones to look after our chihuahua Ivy during every trip to Devon over the last two years. Tracey even kindly dropped Ivy off just before the ceremony and picked her up a couple hours later as we could not get married without her!”

Henry came to the rescue with a football pump so a rather hungover crowd could be entertained by a rather hungover game of 5-a side!"

When we had to cancel due to Covid two months out from our original date, we understood but we were distraught. Simon comforted us and helped navigate us through our options. From organising visits, to helping us get in contact with the right people and answering silly questions about kitchen towel and loo roll, he never once made us feel like we were asking too much.
