An International Wedding Celebration for Megan and Cruz

Interviews    09.09.2024

We love an international wedding at Ash Barton. It’s the perfect place to gather friends and family from all round the world and enjoy a long weekend of celebrations.

Which is exactly what Megan (from Wales) and Cruz (from California) did when they got married under the old oak tree at Ash Barton in July. They met as scuba instructors on the Island of Roatan in Honduras, and were ordained by their close friend Colleen, who double dated with them on their first date!

“Where to even start with how INCREDIBLE our day was, how beautiful Ash Barton is and how helpful the staff were who helped to make the day run smoothly.

“It was a very international wedding. Out of the 90 day guests we had, 46 were international guests who flew in from around the world! For most of them it was their very first time in the UK! I’m a mural artist and the majority of the decorations I made myself, like the totem pole with all the countries on it, the name tags, the welcome sign and the seating charts. And even the ceremony flowers that were hung on the pagoda under the oak tree."

Wedding co-ordination: Katie at Best Day Ever

“She was every bit as wonderful as she is described online. From all the reviews I had read she had been described as a ‘fairy’ who secretly and magically made the day run smoothly… my gosh did she do just that. From the moment I got there on the Monday she answered a thousand and one questions that were being fired at her with a big smile on her face and a calming demeanour. The wedding day could not have been more perfect, and I am so grateful for all that she did.”
