Autumn Holidays in North Devon
Autumn is a beautiful time of the year to be in North Devon. The days are still mild with a warm onshore breeze, the crowds die down a little and the leaves on the Ash Barton estate turn golden.
At this time of the year, we recommend you head for the sea and the stunning coastal towns of Croyde and Ilfracombe. The beaches are more peaceful and there’s more time to explore the local villages and independent shops. In the autumn months, Exmoor is also worth a visit. The moorlands are a rich burnt orange and you may even spot a baby boar playing in the woodland.
Back at Ash Barton, as the evenings get cooler there’s always the fire pit on the patio to keep you warm, or our heated indoor pool and games barn to enjoy.
This is such a fantastic place to stay - our week was just brilliant, so much to do, and a beautiful setting. The house really does have everything you could want and Pete was always on hand to help (or bring fresh eggs from the chickens!). Our chapel wedding at the start of the week was intimate and simple, and the grounds make a great backd...Eleanor Gill
